Inga Wolframm is professor of Sustainable Equestrianism at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences..
Inga Wolframm first studied politics and history at Brunel University in England. After several years working in Brussels and Scotland, she switched to her current field. At Essex University in England, she first obtained a master's degree in equine and human movement sciences, and a PhD in the field of sport psychology in equestrian sports.
In 2006, she became senior lecturer in Equine, Leisure and Sports at Van Hall Larenstein, researching several areas in equestrian sport. In 2015, she worked at the Royal Dutch Equestrian Sports Federation (KNHS) and her responsibilities included sports development, recreation and public affairs. She swapped this job in 2017 for a job at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Utrecht University. There, she was responsible for realising a broad palette of projects aimed at improving animal and human health and welfare, in collaboration with societal and business partners.
In addition to her scientific publications, she wrote several books and regularly lectures at (inter)national conferences and meetings. Besides her work as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences, Inga is attached as an external researcher to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University.
The applied research group aspires to a pioneering role in promoting a symbiotic relationship between humans, animals and nature within the equine sector. Through substantiated research and collaboration with stakeholders, we strive for practical implementation of sustainable solutions. It is time to define new frameworks on how things can be done. Well-founded, reliable research plays an important role in this.

This applied research group aims to gain insight into the transition to a future-proof equine sector, focusing on horse, human, nature, and environment. We examine the various aspects of behavioural change: knowledge and skills, motivation, attitudes and thought patterns, physical conditions, and social context.
