Over the past few days, the Climate Justice Committee (CJC) has been demonstrating in Velp. We fully understand that, also due to the publications in the press, this raises questions among all our students, staff, professional field partners and alumni.
Students at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences (HVHL) have once again expressed above-average satisfaction with their degree programmes this year. In the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS), HVHL students report greater satisfaction with their university compared to the average university of applied sciences student in the Netherlands. HVHL scores surpass the national average across all key themes. Students are especially positive about the atmosphere within their programme, the personal guidance they receive, and the engagement of their lecturers.
VHL University of Applied Sciences is conducting research in Washington Slagbaai National Park, the largest protected nature reserve on Bonaire. Here, a team of lecturers and students from is working on a water management plan for the park.
This week, a scientific publication on the impact of climate change on tropical forests was published in the renowned journal Science. Associate professor Peter van der Meer (Oil Palm and Tropical Forests) contributed to this large-scale study.
Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences (VHL) has achieved ten top-rated programmes in the ‘Keuzegids hbo 2025’, the guide that assesses the quality of higher professional education in the Netherlands. VHL has again increased its number of top-rated programmes from last year. This is a positive boost for the university, which is steadfastly working on its mission to educate professionals for a sustainable future.
On October 18, the annual event Innovate Experience took place at Musis Arnhem. Innovators from the Arnhem-Nijmegen region gathered to network and shared knowledge and experience. Students from HVHL were present with a booth.
