“The difference between the cultures is intriguing”

''It's fascinating to work with fellow foreign students''

''Nynke Schaafsma studied International Agribusiness and Trade in Velp. She is very enthusiastic about the English-language programme. “There’s a good atmosphere there!”

Good choice

“I wanted to do a business degree and preferably in English. I didn’t have much interest in the agricultural part of the programme at first, however, after joining an orientation day, I was fully convinced. I really enjoyed it and I'm very glad I chose this field and Van Hall Larenstein. There’s a good atmosphere for studying there!”

Practical experience

“At the beginning of the first year, we did a project for Grolsch. For this project, we went to the Grolsch brewery and were able to take a look at the entire production process. Very interesting! I had never done anything like that before either so it was a good start to my studies. Later, I did a fantastic internship at an orchid nursery in Canada. Here I learned a lot about this product's entire supply chain!”

Cultural differences

She really enjoys following an English-taught study programme: “It's a huge plus for your future job if you have a good command of the English language. I find it particularly fascinating to work with fellow foreign students. Everyone looks at things in a different way and the difference between cultures is also interesting. You learn how to deal with that right from the start of the programme.''
